Happenings in Mrs. Maloney's Art Room !!!




Kindergarten
Students will practice following directions while reviewing line, shape and color. Students will manipulate their paper using scissors and glue.
First Grade
Students will view artworks created by Wassily Kandinsky. Students will discuss art and its many influences. Students will listen to a variety of music genres and create watercolor paintings.
Second Grade
Students will compare and contrast cave art and Egyptian art. Students will draw an Egyptian Pharaoh in profile view and add scribe in hieroglyphics around the border.
Third Grade
Students will experiment with texture and printmaking. Students will etch an animal on their foam plate and create a series of three prints.

Fourth Grade
Students will recognize various subjects from popular culture. Students will create a self-portrait in the style of Roy Lichtenstein.

Fifth Grade
Students will practice creating value using graphite and charcoal. Students will understand how value and line can make objects appear more 3-Dimensional. Students will examine various forms. Students will create their own still life using form and value.
