Kutztown University Senior Exhibition. 18" x 24", Colored Pastel, 2013.

This is a painting I completed during my high school career. A photograph was taken of each student and then edited in Photoshop to dilute color, increase contrast and eliminate fine detail. Using a grid, students created self-portraits. This strategy guarantees great results! 18" x 24", Acrylic Paint, 2006.

In the corresponding slideshow, you will find works created throughout my college career at Kutztown University . There are a few that pre-date my college career as well. It is important for students to view past artworks of their art teacher. Skill is sometimes inherited, but mostly practiced. Intimidation is one of the top reasons why student's growth in art is stunted. Viewing a progression of skill will help students grow academically, as well as, philosophically.
